Sep 19, 2012 | DCMX Radio, Metaphysics

The Infinite Human is a concept that dates back millennia. Somehow, we have become experts at ‘limitation’, and applying it wherever possible. This episode is the first of a multi-part series of which is dedicated to YOU, the listener. Tune in to understand how important our definitions, believe systems, and emotional state becomes in relation to achieving goals, reaching ‘success’, and ultimately experiencing true happiness. Realize the power of NOW, the power of LOVE, and the power of SELF. Remember that the essential nature of the universe, is that it is non-material. After understanding this, it is easier to see how we can choose to have the things we want, or just the reasons why we can’t.

Introduction: The Infinite You Series

Thank you for this opportunity. Another night where I get to talk about some of my all-time most favored concepts, my favorite paradigm-shifting, reality-bending ideas. Tonight it is the Infinite You. We are talking about the feedback loop, event neutrality, assigning definitions, and observing synchronicity.

Being in the human experience is a concept that dates back millennia. We become experts in limitation. We apply limitation wherever possible. This is another installment of our multi-part series designed to help you, the listener, understand some of these more advanced concepts. These are concepts that I have been using for a long time. They work very well for me, and I know they work well for others.

I have explained in previous episodes, as well as through the collaboration of both our belief systems, a thread of thought that really centers around this idea of the entire universe emanating from a single conscious thought. What we are seeing now, when we look at the depths of quantum physics, when we look at astrophysics, when we look at the holographic nature of the universe, it is all happening in the mind. That is the kicker. I call the show The Curtain and the Matrix, the Matrix of the Mind, because it is all happening there. It is all being made possible by the observer effect, the observer being instrumental in this dance of electrons and particles that we see with special equipment. The writing is on the wall. We have more control over this reality than we are typically programmed to believe.

The Holographic Universe and Our Reality

We are on our way through quotes and records pulled from The Holographic Universe, the book that I reference quite frequently throughout this series. We will mention string theory concepts, how this relates to the big picture, and recent breakthroughs within string theory regarding self-correcting computer code that has been discovered in the depths of string theory. You heard that right. Computer code has been discovered within string theory just recently.

In previous episodes, we talked about the reinforcing material for this: the double-slit experiment, the holographic nature of the universe. We touched on Philip K. Dick and his work, and how it was absolutely relevant to this idea of alternate realities, shared dream states, time in general, and what is real. Philip K. Dick was an excellent author who really expanded minds with the work that he took on. We have talked about positive thinking, law of attraction, guys like Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, and others. A couple of movies that most people know, like The Secret and the What the Bleep series. In there you will find guys like Fred Alan Wolf and Amit Goswami. These are quantum physicists and astrophysicists who are fascinated by the idea of near-death experiences, what happens when we die, mystical experiences, paranormal experiences.

What I was most curious about is the idea of our history, the history of the universe. How does this fit into the big picture of the idea of twenty-twelve and changing realities, parallel realities, crop circles, psychic phenomena, spiritual ascension, Earth changes, healing methods, life after death, and near-death experiences? Those are just really intriguing. Listening to those stories about future technology, sacred geometry, all of this is really connected to the idea of one universal collective of consciousness, one infinite creator. This idea of what a god force is or is not, it is pervasive. The frequency or energy of this, we can barely describe it. It is like asking a fish to describe the water that it swims in.

A friend of ours from What the Bleep Do We Know made a really consistent statement that is very simple. A fish cannot really describe the water until it has actually gotten out of the water. You have to hop out of the water for a moment to experience what is actually outside of it. Very rare for a fish to experience that. For a metaphorical expression, it really is like asking a human being to describe what God is. It is like asking a fish to describe the water that it swims in. Without being able to separate yourself from it, how do you describe it? Well, we can look at the circumstantial evidence, the signs that we have, the human experience especially. When you really pay attention, there is a clear answer being shown to us. There is a clear, unlimited reality beyond this artificial limitation placed on the human race. We can achieve anything that we want, whenever we want, without having to hurt anyone or force ourselves in order to get there.

Tonight we are talking about how you can always get whatever you want. You can bring it and absorb it into your reality by focusing it to your frequency, just like your radio dial, like the program on the TV. You change the channel. You can do the same thing with your reality. You can absolutely do the same thing with your reality.

Quotes from The Holographic Universe

Here are some quotes from The Holographic Universe that really set the framework around what the scientists were thinking when they wrote this book.

Stanislav Grof, on the holographic phenomenon, from The Adventure of Self-Discovery: “The new data are of such far-reaching relevance that they could revolutionize our understanding of the human psyche, of psychopathology, and of the therapeutic process. The observations transcend the significance and the framework of psychology and psychiatry and represent a serious challenge to the current Newtonian-Cartesian paradigm of Western science. They could change drastically our image of human nature, of culture and history, and of reality.” Very interesting quote by a doctor. What he is really trying to say is that there are fascinating things regarding this research and the human experience that you just cannot discount.

T.H. Huxley once said: “Sit down before fact as a little child, and be prepared to give up every preconceived notion. Follow humbly wherever and to whatever abyss nature leads, or you shall learn nothing.” Wise words, because it is so true. When it comes to this understanding of what you really are, you really do not know where the evidence is going to take you. You have got to go there. You have got to go where the evidence takes you. Otherwise you are doing an injustice to yourself and your research.

Starting off with the chapter on the brain as a hologram: “Isn’t it possible that what we think of as the real world is actually wrong? It is not that the world lacks objects out there. At one level of reality, they are there. But if you penetrate through and look at the universe with a holographic system, you arrive at a different view, a different reality. And that reality can explain things that have remained unexplained scientifically: paranormal phenomena, synchronicities, the apparently meaningful coincidence of events.” That is Karl Pribram in an interview in Psychology Today, giving his words about looking at reality in a different way, applying the holographic system. You arrive at a different view, and it absolutely begins to explain what has remained unexplainable scientifically before: the paranormal phenomena, synchronicities, spontaneous healing, spontaneous combustion. These are the things these guys were absolutely fascinated by.

One more quote, from the chapter on the holographic paradigm: “If you look closely at an individual human being, we would immediately notice that it is a unique hologram unto itself, self-contained, self-generating, and self-knowledgeable. Yet if we were to remove this being from its planetary context, we would quickly realize the human form was not only a mandala or symbolic hologram, for within its forms and flows lives compressed information about various physical, social, psychological, and evolutionary contexts within which it was created.” That is a really interesting statement, basically saying that even with the human body, the context of the mind and body being intimately connected is explained simply by this. The planetary context, the human form, is much like a mandala, a symbolic hologram. Absolutely fascinating.

Computer Code in String Theory

Dr. James Gates Jr. is a John S. Toll Professor of Physics and Director of the Center for String and Particle Theory at the University of Maryland in College Park. He serves on President Obama’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Dr. James Gates was just on a program recently. I have got a video and an article up on the Curtain and the Matrix blog right now. The subject: Dr. James Gates on a program talking in front of students about a breakthrough: self-correcting computer code discovered in the depths of string theory.

What Dr. James Gates was saying is that a binary computer code has been discovered within the equations of super string theory. The code itself is called a doubly-even self-dual linear binary error-correcting block code. It was first developed by Claude Shannon in the nineteen forties. What this code does is very simple. It takes and fills in the blanks when there is not enough data to create a full representation of the original signal. It is like the wireless technology even in the mouse you are using with your computer. If you have a wireless mouse, it is communicating with your computer wirelessly, and there is a piece on that chip, an algorithm, the same algorithm, the doubly-even self-dual binary error-correcting block code, used in wireless technology even today. It fills in the signal because the wireless signal is not perfect. Some of the good bits of information do not make it because there are other signals, interference. The circumstances are rarely ideal. So there are always issues with wireless transmission. What that doubly-even binary code does is fix that. It was created by Claude Shannon to improve signal quality, quality of service within the signal. It fills in what is missing.

So how in the world does this become evident, show itself within string theory, and what does it mean?

The Simulation Argument

I linked a fascinating article about simulation theory. Nick Bostrom, a faculty member of philosophy at Oxford University, published this in the Philosophical Quarterly in two thousand three. You can find it at simulation-argument.com and download the paper.

What he is arguing is that at least one of the following three things must be true. First, the human species is very likely to go extinct before reaching a post-human stage. Second, any post-human civilization is extremely unlikely to run a significant number of simulations of their evolutionary history or variations thereof. Or third, we are almost certainly living in a computer simulation already. It follows that the belief that there is a significant chance that we will one day become post-humans who run ancestor simulations is false, unless we are currently living in a simulation.

What he is basically saying is that given such an accelerated development of technology, one day, maybe in ten years, maybe one hundred, we will probably have the ability to run simulations of the past, because the computer hardware will excel to a point where we could calculate down to the behavioral and molecular level. It gets complex. If we are indeed on that path, and it is almost a sure thing the hardware will eventually make such simulations possible, what if it actually has been made possible and we are just the historical representations that our ancestors in the future are now running on a computer chip? We could actually be just simulations.

It does not matter. It does not really matter. When you look close enough at this reality, it is constructed like a dream. The scientific world has come around to the idea that the cosmos is more like a dream than a machine. It does not matter if this is real or if it is a simulation. It is real to us. That is all that matters. Our experience, what we experience, is absolutely real to us. But is it actually real in the sense of what we think real should be? That is the real question.

The simulation argument says that if later generations have super-powerful computers, they could run detailed simulations of their forebears. Suppose that simulated people are conscious, which would be the case if the simulations were sufficiently fine-grained. Then it could be the case that the vast majority of minds like ours do not belong to the original race but rather to people simulated by the later descendants of an original race. It is then possible to argue that if this were the case, we would be rational to think that we are likely among the simulated minds rather than among the original ones. Therefore, if we do not think that we are currently living in a computer simulation, we are not entitled to believe that we will have descendants who will run lots of such simulations.

I connect this to the recent news that they just found doubly-even self-dual linear binary error-correcting block code, developed by Claude Shannon in the nineteen forties, embedded within string theory. I think those two are definitely connected. This is a very valid argument when you consider the possibility that we really are in a computer simulation. Either way, that simulation, if that is the case, puts us in the driver’s seat. You are in the driver’s seat. That is exciting. What I find exciting is that there is no need to depend on what the big guy upstairs is thinking or doing. It is up to me. I decide what I am going to bring into my reality. I fully support the belief that what the big guy upstairs is all about is supporting whatever we choose to believe in. Even if it is an absolutely negative reality you choose to believe in, you are supported, and so you will be fed those negative, angry circumstances just because that is where your focus is.

The Feedback Loop and Event Neutrality

Tonight it is the feedback loop, event neutrality, assigning definitions, and observing the synchronicity of things that tell you that you are on the right track, that you are looking in the right direction, that keep you going and keep you motivated.

We talked about the aura, the energy field that humans put off. Every culture, especially the Eastern cultures, have talked about the aura and the idea of the body’s energy field. Throughout The Holographic Universe, the human experience specifically shows that we have got this aura to understand, and people who are more in tune, who have a good connection to that energy field, they can sense people’s energy. They can see colors. They can perceive energy fields. They can tell you if you are losing energy in a certain area of your body, your symptoms, and what ailment is about to show itself in your physical body.

We have studied how diseases and ailments start as a form of energy in the brain first, and then the body physically represents that as the physical ailment. There is absolutely solid study going into this mind-body connection. How important it is. Your thoughts, your feelings, and your emotions are just as capable of causing a cancerous tumor as the physical contaminants that you put in your body. They are one and the same. They are intimately connected. You have got to take it more seriously. Consider how effective you might be.

Another quote from The Holographic Universe by Itzhak Bentov, from Stalking the Wild Pendulum, also found in the holographic universe: “We human beings consider ourselves to be made up of solid matter. Actually, the physical body is the end product, so to speak, of the subtle information fields which mold our physical body as well as all physical matter. These fields are holograms which change in time and are outside the reach of our normal senses. This is what clairvoyants perceive as a colorful egg-shaped halo or aura surrounding our physical bodies.”

Remember, you already have everything you desire. You are becoming a physical, emotional, and mental antenna designed to receive that version of reality, tuning yourself like a radio to receive the radio programming you prefer. Pretend that it is already out there. It is already out there. We know this from the idea of superposition. All possible realities exist as a wave pattern. We know this from the double-slit experiment. Every version of your life, every reality you prefer, is out there. Everything, all possible versions of your reality, are simultaneously existing. Therefore, everything you desire or could ever desire, you already contain. Remember, you are a holographic representation of the universe. You contain everything because you are the one that has to imagine it for it to be real. You have already been given everything you could ever hope to have or want. It just might not be visible and therefore not real to you because you cannot see it, feel it, or experience it. You have to do all those things before you can actually receive it. Creation exists in the here and now. It is outside of time, in one eternal now moment. Everything you believe you might someday get, you actually already are.

Everything is here and now, but in varying states of visibility or invisibility, depending on the frequencies that you vibrate at, which also depends on the beliefs that you accept as real. As we defined in the last couple of episodes, beliefs form our perception. Your interpretation becomes an emotional reaction, turns into a thought, and your thoughts result in your actions. This loop can absolutely be used to serve your positive reality or your negative reality. You are not actually creating a reality from scratch. You are selecting it. You are allowing it into your reality, just like a TV. The TV does not create the program. It is designed to select and allow it in. Do the same thing. Be the emotional and mental antenna.

So all you are really doing is visualizing, feeling, and matching your frequency to that reality. Here is how you use this in challenging situations. First, make sure you are thinking of something as a challenge rather than a problem, because problems, by definition, are difficult to resolve. That is the mental definition of a problem: something that is difficult to resolve. It is actually the way you choose to define your reality that determines the outcome you experience. Change your definition. No longer are there problems. They are challenges. A challenge is much more likely to have a desirable outcome than a problem. With a problem, you are assuming something negative from the start.

Never go with the mental definition and that association of being difficult. Go to your imagination. Imagine the version of reality that you would like to be experiencing. Make sure you are inserting yourself into that picture. You are instrumental in this picture. You have to be there. Specifically, imagine the ideal version of you that you would most like to be. Then insert the current challenging situation into your imagery and see how this ideal version of you handles that situation ideally. Then bring yourself back the same way, confirming that reality, going out and achieving it. This is becoming the frequency. This is knowing that everything you need to know or be at any given moment, you are the container of all of that.

Get into your feelings and beliefs because your external physical reality is a feedback loop that lets you know what your beliefs are. This way, if your reality is not what you prefer, you can change your beliefs in order to change your external reality. This is the feedback loop. Your beliefs inform your perception, your feelings, and your thoughts. They reinforce your original beliefs. So it goes: beliefs, perception, feelings, thoughts, back to beliefs, perception, feelings, thoughts. Your feelings are the result of your beliefs. Your emotional reaction is a result of what you believe. To discover what your beliefs are, you can work backwards. Ask yourself, what would I have to believe in order to end up feeling this way? What would I have to believe in order to end up receiving this type of physical reality? The moment you change your beliefs about any particular reality or issue, you instantly also change how you feel about that particular reality or issue. Your beliefs are connected to your emotions. How you feel will ultimately determine what you bring into your reality. Feel great, feel better all the time, and you will bring better and more positive circumstances and experiences.

Assigning Definitions and Choosing Meaning

This gets into event neutrality, maintaining a neutral state. Think of a theater which shows many plays. There may be some props backstage that are frequently used in several different ways. For each play, that prop has a specific meaning, but outside that play, the prop has no innate or intrinsic built-in meaning. All the props are basically without meaning. The theater and the play assign meaning to those props.

From this principle, in the absence of inherent meaning, we can assign any meaning we want to the things that happen, the experiences that occur in our lives. We are so quick, so often, to assign a positive or negative definition to the things that happen. Stop doing that. I promise you, trust me on this. Give me your trust and I will not burn it. You have to stop assigning definitions to things that happen, definitions that hurt you or limit you. Something happens and you say, “That is bad. Oh man, that is horrible. This is so bad.” Do not do that. Stop doing that. Stop applying negative definitions. If you are going to apply a definition by default, make it a positive one. Say, “This is good. This is awesome. This is great. I do not know how it is good yet. I might not be able to see that it is good. But that is what I choose to believe because that is the result I want to bring into my reality.” It sounds easy, it sounds simple, but it is not easy. That is event neutrality. Maintain the neutrality.

Events really and truly have no innate significance. It is a blank slate. We get to assign significance and meaning to each event that we experience. There is no intrinsic built-in significance to what happens. You apply that significance. Normally, we assign and project meaning onto a neutral situation so quickly, so automatically, that we are not even aware that we do it. We think the interpretation or meaning is built into the situation, but we are usually completely oblivious to the fact that we are the ones assigning a very specific meaning to what is really a neutral event with no built-in meaning.

Say some jerk did not hold the door for you. You were walking in right behind him. He did not even see you, and you stubbed your toe. You think that is a bad thing. But maybe when you stubbed your toe, you went to the store around the corner that you otherwise would not have gone to, and you bumped into an old friend you have not seen in twenty years. That is the experience, folks. It is really that easy. It is deciding that no matter how bad it looks, this is going to be a good thing, because it has just changed my reality in an unexpected way. Go with it, and then somehow something positive will occur.

Assign a positive meaning to events and it will more than likely produce a positive experience for you. Imagine a story, a big story. The story could go either of two ways: one with a wonderful outcome, and one with a totally unpleasant outcome. You are at this fork in the new story line, and the interpretation that you assign to this new situation totally determines which fork in the story line you will take. This is the version of reality you are choosing. Every event that happens is a fork in the road for you, where you get the opportunity to choose whether this is good for you or bad for you.

Here is the corollary. An event occurs that you would normally automatically assign a negative meaning to. You think, “This is a real bummer.” Choose to assign a positive meaning to that event, even if it appears negative. You may not yet know what is so positive about it. Just by assigning a positive meaning to it, choosing to believe there is something really good about this for you, this will produce an experience that you will consider quite positive. Try it. Next time you think something is just terrible, turn around and choose to believe it is really positive. This is going to be good. I cannot wait to find out what is positive about it. You might even be startled by how effectively this works. Try it out, folks. Start doing this. It slaps you in the face with how well it works. It is amazing.

Once you realize it works for you, the dominoes will start to fall. It is like saying, “Okay, I know this looks terrible, but I do not care. I am going to decide that it is just great. This is awesome. Even though I cannot imagine anything good about it, I am not going to hope it is great. I am going to decide that it is great. I know that sooner or later I will discover what is so wonderful about this.” Try it. The first time you see it work, folks, I am telling you, it is like magic. It is like reality transforming right before your eyes.

Synchronicity: The Spiritual Mechanism

So what is synchronicity? It is a spiritual mechanism. It is like a manifestation of the great conscious universal truth that underlies and drives everything within our consciousness, within our conscious recognition. It is the idea of mankind uncovering clearly connected events that supersede our mental understanding of what our lives are. For many, it serves as inspiration, a continual wake-up call. The ancients knew about synchronicity. They have it in their writings.

Here is an interesting quote from The Art of Being Present: “Synchronicities represent the unexpected merger of two separate realities that are emotionally or vibrationally connected with each other. They come together and emerge in our reality. These events are brought about by vibrational affinity, not through one’s own will.” These are brought about not by you, but by the universe. They happen when you are following your excitement, when you are choosing to believe what is positive for you. You can bring in negative synchronicities as well. Stay positive and understand that in a deep sense, all of life is based on the same frequencies.

We are all at times emitting energetic impulses without being conscious or aware of them. These energetic impulses find their way into the sphere or matrix of which we are a part, drawing us to people, places, things, and events that will most resonate and interact with the energy that we are sending. Synchronicities align with our readiness to experience them. The great mystery and beauty of life lies in its unfolding, exquisitely geared towards our readiness to receive it. For better or worse, we really are creators of the great mystery that represents the shape of our life.

This is what the Curtain and the Matrix has really been about for me. So many nights just thinking about what is reality, what is real, what does this mean, why are we here, what is this great mystery. We live and learn. There is a lot more to this matrix, this interaction with the truth that we find ourselves in, this dimensional soup we are barely aware of. If you like this kind of material, check out the Zen Gardner at zengardner.com. I am also a fan of his work over at the Curtain and the Matrix. He has got some great statements on synchronicity as well. Thank you for tuning in. The Infinite You Part Five is coming up, so stay tuned for that.
