Dr. Leonard Coldwell! See: University of Colorado Cancer Center, TRK Mutations and Father of Oncology. How do TRK mutations cause cancer? In 2013 and 2014, next-generation sequencing of tumor samples found fusions of the TRK family of genes in at least 11 tumor types. Now, a recent article in the journal Cancer Discovery describes clinical trials at the University of Colorado Cancer Center and elsewhere that match drugs to this long-overlooked oncogene, offering targeted treatment options for cancers that harbor these genetic abnormalities. Researchers know that TRK gene is essential for growth, development, and general health, but in its mutated form it leads to cancers and is very dangerous. Without the proper function of TRK, cells cannot differentiate, or specialize to perform specific jobs. The mission of the University of Colorado Cancer Center is to discover, develop and deliver breakthroughs in diagnosis, treatment, and prevention that improve cancer care locally, nationally and globally. The Father of Oncology knows that without iron/cancer information-1905-2015, researchers cannot improve cancer care locally, nationally and globally. Iron is required for the growth of all living cells, including cancerous cells. Martha Tracy (Cornell University Medical College, New York City, 1905) discovered so-called Masked Iron within tumor tissues. Cancer is a disease of iron-overloaded cells. At the cellular level, cancer occurs when cellular iron overload affects cellular organelles. Chromosomes are often not correctly passed on to the new daughter cells in cancer because cellular iron overload chaotically affects DNA and chromosomes. Most, if not all, cancerous cells contain genetic abnormalities. Cellular iron overload leads to TRK mutations, chromothripsis and mitotic catastrophes. Primary tumors always develop at body sites of excessive iron deposits. Such iron deposits can be inherited from parents or can be acquired during life. Personalized direct intratumoral injections of iron-deficiency agents can eliminate inoperable tumors and metastases. Clinical iron-deficiency methods can neutralize micrometastases and isolated cancerous cells. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/opinions/182187 ; http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/opinions/182123 ; http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/opinions/182081 ; http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/opinions/182051 ; http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/opinions ; https://plus.google.com/107119198688120551734/posts ; https://plus.google.com/107119198688120551734/posts/i6VoDLWtvbs ; https://plus.google.com/107119198688120551734/posts/gr1s1utKLvB ; https://www.facebook.com/TheWarOnCancerFoundation/posts/658257930905936 ; https://www.youtube.com/user/1Shapoval ; http://galacticconnection.com/father-oncology-vadim-shapoval-says-cell-needs-iron-overload-becomes-cancerous/ ; http://my.mail.ru/bk/vadim.shapoval/ ; http://russia.ru/id322718 ; http://medicine.jrank.org/pages/283/Cellular-Aging-Telomeres-Telomeres-genome-stability-cancer.html ; https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20111016223132AA727lI ; http://journal.frontiersin.org/Journal/10.3389/fphar.2013.00028/abstract ; http://www.cancercompass.com/profile/Shapoval
